Dry Cleaning

King’s state-of-the art 7 stage process executed by skilled personnel to ensure that every piece of clothes is treated with the perfect professional care no matter how tough or tricky the stains are.
Dry cleaning is the most efficient and safest way to remove food stains, soils, dust, and perspiration. Researches show that over 95% of bacteria will be removed with professional cleaning and steam finishing. The bacteria produce the offensive odour if the garment is worn for long time.
Contrary to common belief, frequent dry cleaning does wear out your clothes. A study conducted at the University of North Carolina in the late 1980’s found that frequently dry cleaned men’s suit showed no adverse effects to the dimension, colour, and the feel of the fabric.
At King we get our hands on stains as soon as we receive the clothes and prior to cleaning. Based on the age, colour, and nature of the stain, and also the material of the fabric the best solution for removing the stain will be established.

7 stages of dry cleaning

1. Detailing: Preparing the item for cleaning and inspecting it.
2. Stain Removal:Our professional staff remove stains using both soaking and individual  stain removal techniques
3. Cleaning: Depending on the fabric material, dry cleaning, wet cleaning or hand cleaning procedures will be performed using the purest of solvents.
4. Hand Finishing: High standard pressers will apply required pressure individually for the garment.
5. Minor Repairs: We look for loose buttons, missing buttons, loose hems, and open seams and fix or replace them.
6. Inspection: Each garment is fully inspected with a pair of well-trained eyes individually.
7. Packaging: Most garments are individually protected with a poly robe or custom hangers.

Tie

“How to tie a tie” might be the biggest challenge of a young man, but for a grown up man the challenge is how to remove a stain from a tie. Because despite common belief, most stains on ties cannot be removed with water. Silk ties are very fragile and therefore water can cause dyes to run. Ties are considered one of the most difficult garments to clean and that is why many dry cleaners simply do not offer tie cleaning services. When it comes to removing stains from a tie, our advice to you is “do not do it yourself” and leave it to our specialist staff at King Dry Cleaning.

Sponge and press

The Sponge and Press technique dates back to Victorian times, long before the invention of dry cleaning . However, it is still the most effective way to clean a bespoke garment without putting it into a a dry cleaning machine.
Our professional staff are specialised is the art of sponge and press and are practicing it on a daily basis.
In this method every things is done by hand. It involves removing stains and spots from your garment and then lightly cleaning the entire garment by hand. The final stage is the hand press.
Despite effectiveness of this method, it should be noted that light coloured or heavily stained garments, may not be perfectly cleaned using this technique. Our staff will be glad to advise you on the best method of cleaning for your garment.
